A House of One's Own
Yes, it used to JUST be a metaphorical room that Virgina WOLF wrote of where a women could think her own thoughts without sharing them with the oppressive patriarchy - today it's been expanded. That is at least part of the message in this article "All The Single Ladies" that in essence celebrates the message "Who needs Men if they can't cleanup after themselves?"

If I Didn’t Make Money, She Hit Me
Hmm, this poor girl in Indonesia hasn't learnt her Feminist Catechism very well.
The girl - a survivor of the 2004 New Years Day Tsunami in Ban Acheh INDONESIA was misused by her "adoptive" mother - who eventually turned her out of the house when she was too old to boss about. Of course it could have been worse - she could have been sold into sexual slavery by the women - but apparently she wasn't.
Again I find it interestingly that a kind "taxi driver" of unknown gender returned her to her family.
Gosh - maybe the kind "taxi driver" was female so they didn't have to mention it?
What do you think?

Deadly Romance
Last week 21 year-old Derek Jensen ran into his very recent ex-girlfriend at a bar in Lethbridge AB with a new guy and made some very bad choices. Heated words were thrown about and unknown to the girl and her new friends Jensen waited outside and tailed them after they left the bar. Around 3am their vehicle was enroute to the airport to drop off the boys when he rammed into them with his car. As the female driver got out to confront him - Jensen opened fired with a 9mm handgun and picked-off all 4 of them off - then turned the weapon in himself. The young women driver was the only survivor to tell the tale but remains in serious condition.
Then on Dec 18, in Emington IL outside Chicago, Sara McMeen shot her boyfriend Daniel Warren, 29 and then her 2 children Skylar Lemke 8 and Ian Lemke 7 (by former boyfriend Brad Lemke) - and last she wrapped up her 10mth-old baby Maggie Warren and shot the baby point-blank in front of an astonished neighbor who had rushed over when she her the commotion. Then McMeen fatally turned the gun on herself. She was suffering from bipolar disorder.
Yesterday in Wisconsin, this happened. A 25 yr old man narrowly missed his 17 yr old girlfriend as she left his home after giving him the "bad news" - why or how I am not sure - but the bullet struck and killed a policeman who was approaching the home outside at the time. The man apparently operated at a lowwer mental age but then how did he get a gun?
And on Xmas morning, 58yr old Aziz Yazdanpanah, dressed up in a Santa suit to deliver gifts - and gunned down 7 people at his former home inhabited by his soon to be divorced wife including his children and his soon to be ex's friends.

"Does Gender Matter for Political Leadership? The Case of U.S. Mayors"
NBER Working Paper No. w17671
What are the consequences of electing a female leader for policy and political outcomes? Where women’s participation in mayoral elections increased from negligible numbers in 1970 to about one-third of the elections in the 2000’s. Using a data set of U.S. mayoral elections from 1950 to 2005, and apply a regression discontinuity design to deal with the endogeneity of female candidacy to city characteristics.
- They find no gender effect of the female mayors on policy outcomes related to the size of local government, the composition of municipal spending and employment, or crime rates.
- While female mayors do not implement different policies, they do appear to have higher unobserved political skills, as they have a 6-7 percentage point higher incumbent effect than a comparable male.
- Also, there is no evidence of political spillover effects (i.e exogenously electing a female mayor does not change the long run political success of other female mayoral candidates in the same city or of female candidates in local congressional elections.)
"The Economics and Politics of Women's Rights"
NBER Working Paper No. w17672
Women's rights and economic development are highly correlated. Today, the discrepancy between the legal rights of women and men is much larger in developing compared to developed countries. Historically, even in countries that are now rich, women had few rights before economic development took off. So is development the cause of expanding women's rights, or conversely, do women's rights facilitate development? We argue that there is truth to both hypotheses. The literature on the economic consequences of women's rights documents that more rights for women lead to more spending on health and children, which should benefit development.
The political-economy literature on the evolution of women's rights finds that technological change increased the costs of patriarchy for men, and thus contributed to expanding women's rights. Combining these perspectives, we discuss the theory of Doepke and Tertilt (2009), where an increase in the return to human capital induces men to vote for women's rights, which in turn promotes growth in human capital and income per capita.[Ladies - you are welcome but don't feel you need to say thank-you. Also, the technological change that increased our costs was because with the oven/washing machines we invented, you aren't spending so much time schlepping down to the river to clean dishes and wash clothes by flogging on rocks. Then we and our children get the pleasure of your company.]
Utilization of Infertility Treatments: The Effects of Insurance Mandates"NBER Working Paper No. w17668
Over the last several decades, both delay of childbearing and fertility problems have become increasingly common among women in developed countries. At the same time, technological changes have made many more options available to individuals experiencing fertility problems. However, these technologies are expensive, and only 25% of health insurance plans in the United States cover infertility treatment. As a result of these high costs, legislation has been passed in 15 states that mandates insurance coverage of infertility treatment in private insurance plans.
This paper examines if mandated insurance coverage for infertility treatment affects utilization. Adjusting for fact that older, more educated women should be more affected than younger, less educated women due to higher risk of fertility problems and because as they are more likely to have private health insurance - they find insurance mandates increase utilization for older, more educated women, especially use of expensive ovulation-inducing drugs and artificial insemination procedures. 9/11 : The Falling Man
9/11: The Falling Man is documentary based on a photograph taken by an Associated Press photographer who captured some of the over 200 people who chose to jump from the World Trade Center towers. The film asks the questions: Who exactly is The Falling Man? And why was his picture and the images of others who jumped removed from our collective memory and mourning of 9/11. A devastating, must-watch documentary.A study in the pathology of shock, denial and horror - and the collective reaction of media and government. It examines why it may have happened, what social mores were broken and how whatever truths we can know could be suppressed. The reactions of family and others are instructive in explaining how we confront some hard truths.
And this article on the 10th Anniversary of 9 /111 made sense to me.

Singh took up running about 20 years ago at the age of 80. He runs about 16 kilometres each day. This marked the eighth marathon for Singh but he has slowed down a bit in the last decade. In the same marathon in 2003, he set a record in the 90-plus category of 5:40 hh:mm.

1-in-4 Rape Myth
Given October is "DV Against Women Month" in the US this stat continues to live on - frequently repeated "ad nauseum". It seems to me be exploiting both men and women's personal fears about sexuality - what is or may not be healthy - and is feminists way of making it a "thought-crime" for young men (no so much women) to think about what their natural, healthy adult relationships which must include sexuality - are all about.
Given the frequency of adults engaging in sex, feminists may as well say something equally as as outrageous and provocative about eating, drinking or regular voiding of our bodies.

National Post - Out of the park!
The National Post has had a good run in the last few days:
Exhibit A) Open court’ a doomed exercise for public, press - describes what a joke it is that courts are "open" for all. That couldn't be farther from the truth - and the Judges know it and like it that way. This starts to make more sense now - given that we know of the many battles Dad's in Ontario have had trying to convince judges they can bring self-recording devices into their own cases.

Furthermore it reinforces the idea that Court is NOT OPEN. In fact, in many vases in Alberta the Judge acts like an impetuous child.
Exhibit B) Gilding the lily in domestic violence case - OMG, can this happen? Of course it can and does.

Women - the unfunny sex
Again, better late than never. Probably a re-run as the old fellow is in the last innings in his battle with cancer.
Why are men, taken on average and as a whole, funnier than women?
This sort of follows up previous comments where men look benignly at women - because they know that when the rubber hits the road - MOST of the time you can't really count on the gals. Why can't women get ahead?
Occasionally I see feminist articles that "break rant" on ideology. This is close. Basically "Smart Girls" give up too early. The explanation is that "Smart Girls" tend to receive praise for qualities such as “goodness” or “cleverness” — attributes that are either present or absent — rather than the kinds of messages boys receive assuring them that more effort will pay off, “you can do it if you try harder”. As they get older they supposedly hesitate to take action because they don’t want to make waves or be labelled a bitch. Women who want to get ahead get over the nice girl thing — particularly the bright ones. Perhaps.
I would say it depends if they are crushing their sisters or seducing their brothers. It is well accepted that women hat to work for other women - preferring the "free pass" they get from men. There is a natural "entente cordial" between men and women that allows us to work together so long as we don't push to hard. But I believe properly motivated teams of men still are able to achieve much more than women - even in the Knowledge sector.

Sept 10 - Suicide Prevention Week
In 2009 *78% of suicides in Alberta were male1.
--------------------------------------------------
Suicide is a silent issue that affects thousands of people each year - including obviously those who are left behind. There are more annual deaths by suicide in Alberta than motor vehicle accidents2.
On September 9th, the Edmonton Support network holds a "Lift the Silence" Event in conjunction with National Suicide Prevention Week and it's own bereavement programs.
I find it a bit ironic that their tag line is "Lift the Silence, Begin the Healing" as they appear to do anything but engage in active and healthy dialogue - but do encourage support survivor, prevention, and hope.

Who murdered Auturo GATTI?
Ok, the story is out there.
The mystery surrounding his death continues while his family is in a legal battle with his former wife over which will is valid.
Was it suicide - or was it murder? This ex-Chicago cop thinks the latter - as does his brother and family. No-body but 10 men - they say - could have taken him as lightly as he went down that night in a Brazilian resort on July 11, 2009.
Whatever the outcome, there is an increasing focus on suicide in Sport. Over the summer there have been a string of them among NHL "enforcers" - Wade BELAK, Rick RYPIEN and Derek BOOGAARD - and attention has turned to the possibility the pounding the suffered from their on roles is a factor. I am not so sure.
One thing I know - Gatti was a whirling dervish in the ring.

Research on IPV against Men
Today I received a forwarded email from Dr. Denise HINES of Clarke University in Worcester MA. She studied at UNH with Dr. Murray Strauss and so has immediate credibility in many men's eyes as coming from a balanced "sociological" environment and not subject to mandatory feminist indoctrination.
However, most notable was that she and some of her colleagues had participated in a Round-table on Family Dynamics organized by Sen. Anne Cools in May 2011. Sen. Cools is also very highly regarded due to her courage in advancing father-friendly solutions after Divorce.

WSJ: What They Know
Because many are not aware of what goes on "behind our browsers" this is a shock to many. Certainly I was not aware of the extent of so many "tracers" - and the WSJ had done an excellent job of illustrating them.
Below are some of the examples of what websites are tracking and how:
And taking a single example:
Dictionary.com places 234 "trackers" on your PC when you visit their site. These trackers consist of more and more sophisticated software codes - cookies were the basic trackers developed long ago, but with the ubiquitous use of Flash in ads and software usage, there are "Flash" trackers left behind as well. Finally, as newer browser technology like HTML5 gets established as the new standard, even more sophisticated trackers called "beacons" are left behind.
Then there are the users of these "trackers". In our Dicionary.com example, only 11 trackers are "First" party trackers - that is directly related to fulfilling the request to Dictionary.com and perhaps additional cookies that allow them to keep track of when you return etc. 159 are cookies from a vast array of users - they could be Microsoft (from the version of IE Explorer, or from the Search engine that got you there like Bing or Google. Finally, there are trackers from any one of Third Parties that have reached an agreement with Dictionary.com (which is actually owned by web marketer IAC/Interactive Corp. The purpose and relationships here are among the most murky and little known and basically depend highly upon the goodwill of the "First" party dilligence. WSJ wryly notes that "These privacy policies do not generally apply to the activities of the third-party trackers."

Power of a fathers presence
I read about this piece in the St. Louis Today.
A new Pew Research Center report on fathering trends reports that today's fathers are more active in their children's daily lives to a degree not seen in nearly half a century.
They also log more than twice as many hours on kid duty than did their own dads: In 1965, the average married father spent only 2.6 hours a week caring for his children; by 2000, that average had risen to 6.5 hours. Live-in dads now regularly eat meals with their children, play with them, read to them, help them with their homework and ask them about their day.
But, in 1960, just more than one in 10 children lived apart from their fathers. Today, more than one in four do.
Shockingly, 40 percent of dads who dropped out of high school live apart from their children, while only 7 percent of college graduates do.
The consequences for children are profound. As statistics in the 2011 Father Facts report make clear, children who live apart from their biological fathers are more likely to suffer abuse, run afoul of the law, abuse drugs or alcohol, struggle with emotional and behavioral problems, live in poverty and engage in early sexual activity. Children raised by their married fathers and mothers, by contrast, fare better on nearly every sociological measure available, from their rates of graduation to their incidence of out-of-wedlock childbearing and divorce.
Many children who grow up without live-in dads manage to succeed, of course. And some live-apart fathers make heroic efforts to stay involved in the lives of children from whom they are separated against their will, sometimes by mothers who undervalue a father's importance. But as University of Virginia sociologist and fatherhood expert W. Bradford Wilcox put it when I asked him about the issue this week, marriage and fatherhood are, for most men, "a package deal."
It is so clear - Father absence hurts children.

I saw this article in today's New York Times, another shibboleth of feminism goes down. Except they make it sound like all of theses women are idiots for love - and were taken advantage of by boyfriends, husbands, male relatives etc. Of course, the question of where their new cars, fashionable clothes, makeup and support came from was never their concern.

Sao Paulo council calls for Heterosexual Pride Day
...and the measured, egalitarian response of the San Paulo LGBT community?
The Brazilian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Association criticized the legislation, saying it could provoke homophobic violence.
How many LGBTs will be attacked because of the message that only heterosexuality makes someone a moral person and a good citizen," the association said in a statement.
"The celebration of heterosexual pride is inappropriate because it belittles the just cause of the LGBT community," the statement added. "Unlike homosexuals, heterosexuals are not discriminated against simply for being heterosexuals."Link1
Only the good die young?
I greatly enjoyed this article as it addresses a persistent topic well known to men - we die earlier - and this article points out the most likely reason why deeply embedded into our genetic code.
Again and again across the animal kingdom, males die younger than females — a consistent, puzzling pattern of premature expiration that new research suggests may be the unavoidable biological cost of impressing the ladies.
An emblematic example of the trade-off is seen among houbara bustards, a large Middle Eastern bird with exuberant male courtship displays. Males age faster than females, and biologists found that exceptionally exuberant males age fastest.
The measure of aging was, appropriately, declining sperm quality.

Gender Inequality - a Male Perspective
Despite being a bit dated (video was produced in 2008, courtesy of The National Coalition for Men) there are still some useful website resources referred to at the end of the video. This initial effort has "morphed" into a call for a special White House Counsel on Boys To Men. It has accomplished a number of good updates since then and I recommend reading there. [Also, another academic effort in same direction I have referred to in this blog before.]

Casualties from Afghanistan
Because these figures are not well documented as a matter of "Defense Department" policy due the controversy associated with "validating harm" (sort of the same reason why suicides - that are 78% Men/Boys - are never disclosed) I thought I should bookmark this website which appears to have the most up-to-date information I could find. There are also other Conflicts mentioned and Causalities by Nationalities tabulated at this website.
It is correct that 157 Canadian Military Men and a few Women died in Afghanistan. On July 1, 2011 Canadian Troops were relieved of this duty. They have done an excellent job and I certainly hope their efforts help the people of Afghanistan achieve some greater autonomy in the future. In their July Edition, Walrus Magazine reproduced portraits that had been painted of all of these fallen hero's.

100th Anniversary of Fathers Day by Council on Contemporary Families
Too late, I came across these comments to mark the 100th Anniversary of Fathers Day from the Council on Contemporary Families. Fathers Day was 1st held on June 19, 1910 in Spokane WA - and as it mentions:
Unlike Mother's Day, politicians didn't immediately jump on the bandwagon. In fact, the holiday was met with mockery in its early years. Not until 1972 did President Richard M. Nixon sign the holiday into law. Here are some of the Facts
- There are 30.2 million fathers living with children under 18. Eighty-five percent of these men live with their biological children only, 11 percent live with stepchildren and 4 percent live with adopted children.
- Almost one-quarter (24 percent) of the nation's 11.2 million preschool-age children with a working mom are regularly cared for by dad during mom's working hours. An estimated 158,000 men are stay-at-home dads whose wives support the family financially.
- Fathers have more than tripled the time they spend in child care since the 1960s.
- More than 24 million children live apart from their biological fathers. That is 1 out of every 3 (33 percent) children in America - three times the proportion (11 percent) of children who lived in absent-father homes in 1960.
- Another 2 million children live without a mother in the home. In 2009, there were 1.7 million single fathers in the United States. This amounts to 15 percent of all single parents. About half were divorced, 29 percent never married, 18 percent separated, and 5 percent widowed.
- More than 250,000 children aged 18 and younger are being raised by two parents of the same sex.
- Children whose fathers are positively involved with them have fewer behavior problems, higher cognitive development, greater maturity and a lower likelihood of drug and alcohol abuse than children whose fathers have only fair to poor relationships with them. Also, Fathers themselves benefit from being involved with their children and mothers tend to be less depressed when fathers have relationships with the children.
- It doesn't matter whether dad is a "biological" dad or whether he lives in the same home as his child: social support from dad is protective for children. Adolescents with close emotional ties to both a stepfather and a nonresident biological father have better health outcomes than teens who are close to only one dad.
- In Heterosexual Families, the Single Most Important Predictor of Whether Fathers Are Actively Involved with their Children is the Quality of the Father's Relationship with the Mother.
- Successful programs do not focus on fathers as income providers but on helping men have relationships with their children that are more positive than their fathers had with them. Key components of this involve helping men find ways to relate better to their children, especially how to discipline effectively but not harshly, and how to communicate better with their children's mother.

Eight-year-old drives truck while drunk father sleeps
Well, I would have thought he should receive some recognition that he - at least - wasn't driving, but 8 yrs old seems just as dangerous. I believe the limit on driving a farm vehicle or a ATV in some locations is 12 yrs old.

Lysistrata - The Sex Strike
Review of new play adapted from the Greek classic by notorious feminist - Germaine Greer, caught my eye. It follows the release of a fictional novel "The Uncoupling" last year that I recall from this interview.
The interview mentions a number of fairly modern examples of this philosophy. What I feel is most revealing is how this is merely seeks to bring the challenge of connubial sexuality into the public square. One must ask, why?

Weaponizing Sex
Clare's Law being considered in the UK? What the hell is it?
They already have a Sarah's Law that allows British women the right to go to their local cop shop and ask if their partners have had any convictions or accusations of paedophilia on their police record. This was a law campaigned for by a newspaper (News of the World) that at the same time was hacking into the phones of the relatives of the murdered girl – Sarah – who it was named after. Now it looks like women will soon have the authority to further invade their boyfriend’s privacy on the pretext of ending domestic violence (only against womyn).
At the same time we have this example.
Courtney Stodden is 16.
She is marrying 51 year old actor, Doug Hutchinson.
She hopes to pursue her career in Entertainment.
Unusual - perhaps. But need I say more.

Support for idea that the case against Cayle Anthony was circumstantial
A terrible case - no doubt - and I would not want to excuse her bizarre behaviour, but here is some further evidence that it was a very shakey case from the start. Also, reference to Nancy Grace's "damn the torpedo's" frenzy as suspiciously bad conduct that got her punted before.
Incredible
The (female) reporter - Mac McClelland - met a women in Haiti when she was there to report on the 2010 Earthquake who had been raped. McClelland was SO distraught by this experience (meeting the women, hearing about the encounter, witnessing how she reacted when she thought she seen her attacker etc) - that she couldn't get over it. With agreement of her therapist she asked a friend to simulate her rape.
Yes, she asked a (male) friend to "rape" her.
This is a whole new level of strange.
At the same time - www.Cheaterville.com - is coming to Canada.
You can't make this stuff up.
[*Just to clarify in-case people interpret my comments as "condoning rape" or some such poppycock. Given what I know of Haiti (Montreal has a very large ex-patriot community on account of the French culture and amity. Haiti is "the poorest in the Western hemisphere" according to CIA 1999 figures.) I do not doubt that rape is rampant in this sad, lawless, corrupt, ungoverned, crumbling and desperately poor country. In these economically and socially impoverished circumstances I think there is much higher possibility of needless violence and personal crime of opportunity. Given the chaos and tumult post-earthquake (Jan 2009) I believe women and girls without constant protection are more vulnerable - and have very likely been subject to this terrifying sexual violation. But I think it is a REAL PROBLEM when we (Westerners) attempt to transport our social standards about these crimes to such countries and then are shocked ("Shocked" I tell you) when it turns out very badly. It is naive in the extreme and deliberately courting disaster. So, this reporters attitude and behaviour causes me more subsequent alarm than the fact of cruel abuse suffered by these poor women in Haiti.]

Does Family Breakdown contribute to Male Suicide?
Recently (July 2011) we had the very sad suicide of a "Dead-Broke" Dad - Byron James Chayeski - who was overwhelmed by his mis-treatment under Family Law. He was unable to cope and it took him down.
Then on May 9th there was another mysterious "disappearance" that turned out to be another suicide by a solider - Corporal Richard Curnow - who had only recently returned from courageous service in Afganistan - but who was also unable to deal with his wife's decision to divorce. This was close to home as it occured on my regular weekly running route.
Here was how I reported it to a friend:

This was close to home as it occured on my regular weekly running route.
Here was how I reported it to a friend:
A couple of weeks ago a 27yr old solider (Master Corporal Curnow) -- recently returned from 2nd tour in Afganistan - and took his own life in an unusual manner. I mention it because it was - at least initially - reported as a missing person by his wife.
Unlike the newspaper article - a TV news report also let slip that "they" had decided to divorce, were living separately and (presumably at her initiation) were discussing possible divorce. It was reported that Cpl. Curnow had spend the night prior to the fatal training run (here he disappeared) with a visit of his 3yr old daughter - and then returned her to his now-separated spouse that evening/morning.
Early the next morning he disappeared while on training run with his platoon on a route I do 2-3x week - so I am well familiar with it. The route follows the South Saskatchewan River which is a river park system thru the center of our city (Edmonton AB = 1 million pop). It is a large river fed from the mountains in the west and is always pretty cold (refreshing in July/August - but you need a wetsuit for anything over 3mins) but at this spring time of the year it is high, cold and swift. MCpl. Curnow was training for a local annual endurance race with a 30kg pack and he disappeared on a long bend that follows right along the river in a wooded area.
I believe he may have just entered the water and swam out until he was taken and swept under by the current. Hypothermia, drowning or both - and few would have seen him at that time 7:30am and along that stretch of the river. I speculate, but it may be possible he could not bear the pain/sense of failure associated with his wife leaving him. Spending time with his daughter the evening prior must have driven home to him that he was going to have to face this reality - and that perhaps, perhaps - he might lose that contact.
Men of iron are brittle. The common point I wish to raise is that men are much more heavily "blind-sided" by marriage breakdown - and normally they are on the receiving end "These boots are made for Walking: Why most divorce filers are women" Douglas ALLEN SFU (with Margaret BRINIG) American Law and Economics Review Vol. 2(1) Spring 2000, pp. 126--169.)

Cdn Supreme Court - loophole?
This decision from the Supreme Court was released today and I can't help but agree with Mike Murphy (who commented about this on FB) that he feels the guy - for a change - just won on this one. Personally, I think it says alot more about why we allow farmers to be exempt than anything.
Celebrity Divorce - Daniel BALDWIN
Another sad case of celebrity divorce spills into the pages of tabloid press - but with a slightly different angle. Dad got off the 1st round.
In this case it is the younger brother to Stephen Baldwin - who suffered his own celebrity divorce and when on to write a book about the vicious tactics of lawyers he experienced.
In this case, Daniel seems to have established a good opening - perhaps drawing on his brothers experience.

Sad News - a dad crushed by Family Law takes his own life
Terrible story. This fellow contacted ECMAS last week to seek some help in his desperate situation. He spoke to Ferrel briefly. Another person who refereed him said he was in bad shape.
Byron James Chayeski was 38 and basically reduced to living in his truck. He was found in it dead on Mon July 11 about 16k South of Canora SK - supposedly en route on return to Yorkton.
Here is email to Ferrel:
Good day Farrell,
I spoke with you on the telephone this morning regarding the M.E.R.G.E. organization. I am very interested in joining this organization, I have been a Paramedic for 16 years and have dedicated my
life to helping people. Now when I need assistance in FAIR treatment in the courts and with access to parenting time with my daughter, I appear
to have no help what so ever.
I have spent over $27,000.00 thus far, I have a parenting plan inplace in which it followed my rotation at work
which was 6 days on and 5 days off, now my rotation has changed and we now work a 4 day on and 4 day off rotation. My ex is not willing to change the parenting plan, and now is no longer even following the 6 and
5 court order.
I went to the R.C.M.P. for assistance, they advised me there was nothing they could do because it doesnt say in the order that it is enforceable by them. I have been forced into bankruptcy, I have lost my home, my vehicle, she obtained and order in which I am required to pay her vehicle payment as well as child support ( which I do not
have a problem paying) and spousal support.
It was her decision to end the relationship and marriage, I asked her to reconcile, I advised her I
would do absolutely anything to "get my family back", she declined. I am not abusive and have an affidavit from my first ex stating this fact, I do not drink, I do not gamble, I didn't smoke until all this started.....I don't get it! I just want to parent my daughter and spend the time with her.
The only reason she is still living in Canora is because I have a court order stating my daughter MUST have a residence here, otherwise I would NEVER be allowed to see her! Can you PLEASE help me? I just want to spend the time with my daughter, she is the light in my life.
If it was not through the kindness of friends here, I would be living on the street and have no vehicle. I have moved in with a friend, I pay her as much as I can a month for rent......which is usually not much, I have borrowed a vehicle from a friend so I can get back and forth to and from work ( a 1989 dodge half ton and meanwhile my ex
drives a 2008 Pontiac Torrent that I am forced to pay for).
I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible, before I am forced to live on the streets and lose my job.
Thank You.
Byron Chayeski.
We must fight this sense of gross injustice. His daughter will never know her father.

Strange Case of Noah Kirkman
The State of Oregon Child and Family Services makes a bad situation worse by trying to collect child support. An interesting factor in that case was that Lisa Kirkman has an unusual lifestyle and is a very big advocate of medical marijuana use.
Here is her lawyer's comment about the case and interview

Besides the obvious aspect of Family Law here - there is a bigger issue of International Jurisdiction where our Federal Government does not act to protect citizen's rights. Here was previous concerns.

Stop The Corruption In Child Support Enforcement - MLJ1219
Micheal Jordan's take on being taken to the cleaners by Family Court. He has provided an extensive video archive of his experience and how "the FLAW system" is taking it's toll.
At 09:15 (above in video 1) Micheal begins discussion of a case in Dec 2004 from Liberty Advocate Charles Corry's website - the Equal Justice Foundation in which an ex-wife Viola TREVINO of NM successfully defrauded her former husband of $18,000 over a number of years in an elaborate scam involving child-support for a child that never existed! Mr. Jordan points out that the sad fact is the incompetence of the judge involved was part of the reason this case was revealed.
There are many other points he makes in the 6 part series.
Although it is not the same person, I have also subscribed to this blog - MKG4583 - who tends to deal only with PA issues, but occasionally strays into other Family Law areas.
