Exhibit A) Open court’ a doomed exercise for public, press - describes what a joke it is that courts are "open" for all. That couldn't be farther from the truth - and the Judges know it and like it that way. This starts to make more sense now - given that we know of the many battles Dad's in Ontario have had trying to convince judges they can bring self-recording devices into their own cases.
Furthermore it reinforces the idea that Court is NOT OPEN. In fact, in many vases in Alberta the Judge acts like an impetuous child.
Exhibit B) Gilding the lily in domestic violence case - OMG, can this happen? Of course it can and does.
Exhibit C) Women are not always the ‘gentler sex’. Nobody "can tell it like it is" better than Barbara KAY. And then, she had another excellent piece on the impact of women postponing child-bearing until it is too late.
All are common truths that need to be told.
